Pronounced 'Naffa-tafle' and translated as the 'King's Table', it is an ancient game for two players played on an 11 x 11 square board. Although probably a forerunner of chess, the moves are much more simple (all pieces move in the same way as the castle in chess).

Isle of Wight set, based on an entry in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles describing a Viking raid on the North coast of the Island, close to where the wood is cut to make the pieces.

Simple set, with pieces as shown - carved shields on inner pieces, painted shields on outer pieces           48.50 ORDER HNFPL

Set with shields all both sets of pieces, as illustrated in picture of game in progress 58.50 ORDER HNFCVD
